Today I met a girl,
and she asked, "How are you?"
"Just fine," I replied.
She said, "No, tell me what's true."
Perplexed, I stopped and stared.
She was young, no older than eight.
Her eyes were still innocent.
They knew no hate.
"What did you say?"
I asked in confusion.
"You know what I mean," she said.
This girl was in a delusion.
Trying to be kind,I replied,
"No I do not."
She frowned and replied,
"You lie quite a lot."
Now I was agitated.
What does this girl know?
Acting like she's so intelligent.
I'll just tell her to go.
"Let me explain!"
She exclaimed in haste.
"I know you're not alright.
I know you feel misplaced."
What?
How in the world?
What's happening?
Who is this little girl?
"But I'm here to say you'll be alright.
Though your friends will leave,
leave you feeling alone and cold,
you'll find a reprieve."
"So just stay strong
because I know you can do it."
How? Who are you?
I wished she would quit.
Suddenly it was silent,
and I turned to see,
but there was no one there at all,
just the air and me.
Who was talking?
Was it all in my mind?
Yes, I know it was.
My own subconscious sending a sign.
For now that she's gone,
it's very plain to see.
That pretty little girl,
was the hopeful version of me.

I'm Fine
"Are you okay?"
That's all they say.
And I leave behind
These words in my mind.
I'm broken, I'm dying.
Inside, I'm crying.
There are wounds beneath my skin.
There are trials I face within.
There are things I just can't say.
There are people I must betray.
Beneath a smile, I feel pain.
Behind the sun, there's always a little rain.
And beneath these words I hold in my head...
There's always the thing I say instead.
I leave the truth behind..
So when they say, "are you okay?"
I always say, "I'm fine."
Literature
It's Just A Dare
I dare you
To tell me to be something I'm not
Go on, say it
Tell me to hide the truth
From all of those I love
I dare you
To tell me to grow up
Go on, say it
Tell me I'm childish
Because you're so much more mature than me
I dare you
To tell me who I can and cannot love
Go on, say it
Tell me that loving certain people is wrong
Because your way of thinking is so right
I dare you
To tell me I'm not normal
Go on, say it
Tell me that I'm different
Even though you and I are both humans
You could do all of that
In a heartbeat if you wanted to
But here's a real challenge:
I dare you
To accept everyone for who they are
Not for who you want them

When I Said
When I said I wanted a fairy tale
I meant I wanted a prince.
I didn't want to be locked in a
Tower.
I didn't want to be fought by a
Wicked Witch.
I didn't want
This.
When I said I wanted a fairy tale
I meant I wanted to be a princess.
I didn't want to watch a rose
Die.
I didn't want to wear the gown
Temporarily.
I wanted it
Forever.
See,
When I said I wanted a fairy tale...
I expected it to end in a
Happily
Ever
After.
But i never expected it to end like this.

I wrote this a few minutes ago. I'm not really sure where the inspiration came from, the last few lines just found themselves in my head and I started writing. I kinda like it, though the rhyme scheme is funny. It's okay-ish.

Oh what a beautiful poem! I love everything except when you explain that it's the subconscious sending a sign. It felt too straight. Well for me. Again this is a lovely writing!
